Flirting 101

Today, I got hit on by a man who seemed to be in his late 30's. I was walking out of a gas station. This older man was walking up, so I held the door open for him. As soon as he was inside, a maroon SUV pulled up and honked. I thought I may know the person, seeing as they did honk at me. I walked up to the window, keeping my distance, of course, expecting to see someone I knew. However, what I found was a black man, smoking a cigarette with a gold tooth. How attractive. Here's how the conversation went:

"Hey baby, how you doin'? Whats your name?"

"Jill"

"Well, Jill. I just wanted to say you be lookin' fine as hell."

"...thanks?"

"Mhmm. Are you married?"

"No. I'm only 17..."

"Oh, well you be looking mature."

"Okay. Bye"

His Mistakes

First mistake: He's old. 

Second mistake: He called me 'baby', even though I look mature...Am I the only one confused?

Third mistake: He was smoking....not attractive AT ALL.

Fourth mistake: He compared me to hell. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be compared to fiery pits that devour people's soul. Just saying'.

Fifth mistake: He didn't speak well. By that I mean he didn't speak proper English. Ich.

Sixth mistake: He honked at me to get my attention.

My Mistakes 

First mistake: I made eye contact.

Second mistake: I talked to a stranger.

Third mistake: I told him my name.

If you are a dude reading this, please note how awful his flirting techniques are and don't follow in his footsteps. Women wanted to be treated like gold. Not to mention, we are more than just butts and boobs-we have brains, feelings and thought. Even if you don't want to listen to our feelings, please treat us with respect. For the most part, that's what any stable woman responds to best. 

America.

Courage is a word that can be used to describe America in a time of turmoil and destruction. The struggles we faced 10 years ago today are still very alive in the world, and even in America. Patriotism is dying quickly, especially in younger generations.
I see it every day at school. I stand for a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance. When I look over my shoulder, I see about 90% of my class still sitting. What I want to know is why. Why do they sit lazily in their desks when they could be honoring the men and women who fought for their freedom? Is it because the Pledge says "one nation, under God"? Well, our nation was built on a foundation of Christianity, and our Pledge reflects that. If it really bothers you that much, I want you to know that you have a right-it's called freedom of religion. If you're a Buddhist, change it to "one nation, under Buddha". If you're Muslim, change it to "one nation, under Allah". But all I'm asking, is for everybody to remember. Remember that people died for your freedom of speech and religion. Remember to think about those people that died in order for you to live the luscious life you do. Too many things are taken for granted, and a human life shouldn't be one of those things. Remember to appreciate.
